This course is aimed at beginners or those with limited knowledge and experience of walking independently in the hills or countryside. Our two day course is designed to ensure you get as much time as possible outside, learning and practising new found skills and knowledge. The maximum number of people on our courses will be 4. This is part of the additional safety measures introduced by us to reflect the Covid-19 period.
This course is aimed at beginners or those with limited knowledge of hillwalking. Maybe you are a regular walker but aren’t completely confident about planning, navigating and understanding other factors which affect us when we walk in the hills. The emphasis is very much on the practical side and the two days will be structured to give you ample time to practise and consolidate your new found knowledge and skills. Navigation will be practised throughout the two days. Our aim is to give you the confidence to venture out onto the hills independently whilst learning in a relaxed and fun way. A certificate of attendance is available for this course.
We also offer the accredited version of the Hill Skills course where you can pre register with Mountain Training for an additional fee. Please let us know if you wish to register and we can help you through the process.
