Four of us walked a section of the Slate Trail (Capel Curig to Bethesda) yesterday with Steve as our guide. It was a wonderful day. It is a fairly flat section, 12 miles long. The scenery was, of course, stunning - and varied. What made this special, though, was the unique local knowledge that only someone like Steve can add. We learned so much about the flora and fauna, natural history and social history. This was our second walk guided by Anelu Aim Higher, and it won't be our last. Our entire experience was first class. I can't recommend them highly enough.
I have been on guided hikes in the Snowdonia mountains before, this time it was different; Snowdonia is Stephen's childhood playground, he helps you see the mountains through a different, fascinating and beautiful lense.I was blessed to see the famed wild Carneddau ponies. If you want to do more than just visit and summit a peak, I can't recommend Stephen enough. He is clearly a professional, accomplished mountaineer and instructor but also part of this community, you get a window into all that is magical about North Wales, Snowdonia National Park and the community that lives there. I'll be back!!
